BAY-BOW WINDOWS

Bay-Bow Windows Features

  • Bow windows first appeared in the 19th century in Victorian-style homes. Bay windows became popular in the early 1900s. Today, both are seen in a wide variety of architectural styles.
  • Bow windows are typically 4, 5, or 6 individual, equal-size windows set at angles to create a gradually arched projection. The window units are usually fixed or casements.
  • Bay windows typically have a large center-fixed window with equal-size flankers on each side using a double-hung or casement unit. The side flankers are configured at a 30-degree or 45-degree angle.
  • Bay and bow windows both have a solid top headboard and a bottom seat board. Both are made of furniture-grade plywood and are fully insulated at the time of installation.
